A few months ago I started sending random things to my darling friend from camp (I'll call her Harris. hehe, I bet she'll just love that name xD ) through the mail. This is her first year at college, see, so she needed some happy loveliness to keep her going, and who doesn’t like getting awesome snail mail?
I sent her a ball (you can write on the outside of one of those dollarstore kickballs, address it and take it to the post office just like that, no box required. Isn’t that awesome?) to start, and ever since have been finding random little things and sending them along. You wouldn’t believe how addictive sending fun mail can be.
I’ve learned a few tricks along the way…
1. Smile real pretty at the postman if you’re sending something weird like a ball or something that is sure to be a pain delivering.
2. Happy mail can be anything. I sent my darling a free sample of adult diapers once, much to my own amusement. Hehe : ) As long as it lets the person know you’re thinking of them and doesn’t offend them, go for it!
3. Free samples are great. They’re free, and the come in the mail. Need I say more? Just be careful to make sure there is absolutely NO billing or strings attached.
4. Interesting packaging goes a long way, especially with girls. Why else do you think perfume bottles come in so many shapes?
5. I don’t really have a fifth point, but this list seems more balanced with a No. 5, so I figured I’d add one. Happy happy-mailing! : )
